Why, you ask? I am left handed - right brained. White space, in my world, doesn't exist. It's full of riotous color and patterns. So now you can understand how agonizing this challenge was for me.
And speaking of the challenge, this week at Our Creative Corner, our hostess again is Meihsia Liu of Simply Paper Crafts. She has given us our first Clean and Simple challenge but with a twist. We are to add an element you would see in a kitchen. After consulting my dear friend Virgina Liu, the QUEEN of Clean and Simple, here is my design team card. Thanks V! She gave me a "thumbs up" for my first try!
Please drop by Our Creative Corner
and join in on our challenge. I promise you'll have fun with this
Clean and Simple technique! Also, check out the awesome projects from the FAB

Hello Marcy
What a delightful card, and I have to say I am very surprised that you had a difficult time!!!!!!!I will not continue to expound my thoughts to you regarding CAS, as I have said more than my fair share on this genre. Why did I feel that when you challenged me that you were good at making these type of cards????? You fooled me big time! Of course I can relate to your thoughts completely, even though I 'think' with the left side of my medulla.
Your embossed Bg has created movement which connects beautifully with your steaming coffee, adding the hexagon shapes surprisingly pulls the design together perfectly, you have also included a negative space, and I have a huge problem living with space on a card... so for me you have taken the Challenge on with a little advice and come up trumps. Well done my friend.
Smiles:)
Sue
I am SOOO proud of you!! Yay! And it turned out beautifully! I know first hand how much you struggled with this card - we talked about it enough times - ha! I really do love the way it turned out, Marcy! Your embossed background paired with the hexies looks awesome, and I love those sweet, little cups! Way to go girl! :)
Sue - you crack me up! We made it through, and pretty fine too, LOL!
Barb - I forgot I whined enough times to you about this, LOL! Thanks for your support too! I did the "threes!"
Marcy, I would never have known that you struggled. This is a brilliant card..the continuity and movement with the swirls, as SUE said, is perfect!
I'm lulled with the fuzzy, and now need a cup of tea=)
LOVE a good blue teacup.
In grade school my teacher had this way of keeping her children in line. She had these dolls; some were cute and some were horrid. She called them "Warm fuzzies" and "cold pricklies." Once you received a cold prickly and had to carry it around all day, it was definite motivation for behaving and earning the highest achievement of warm fuzzies. SOOOO, long story short...to this day whenever I see anything that says "Warm Fuzzies" it just makes me smile and so does your card! I love the artistic design and placement on your card and all of your elements fit perfectly together for the CAS Kitchen theme. A very pretty and inspiring card!
I thought I might see a card with a "donut" on it...LOL! I like this much better. :)
hugs,
Lisa xx
I've had those weeks Marcy, believe you me! It's agonizing! But I think you came up with a great card! I love those little cups and the hexagons in your background!
Hi, Marcy, this is such an elegant card. Love the beautiful embossed background and cute image.... :)
How sweet is this? Love the three steaming cups, the colors you chose and the embossed BG. It's the perfect CAS card. Tough theme but you did good!
Hope you are having a great week!
Hugs,
Linda
