The Softer Side of Me

OK, I channeled the "inner vintage" in me through the amazing Linda Coughlin of The Funkie Junkie for our challenge this week over at Our Creative Corner!  Actually, I sort of cased THIS card of hers.

Our hostess this week is the amazingly talented, Susan Butler (aka Scrumplescrunch) and her theme this week is unequivocally 'Shabby Chic'. This means the shabby part of Vintage! The challenge requires you to pull elements together, the more old/worn and distressed the elements/images the better; think of muted colours, layers, roses, burlap and pearls. You do not have to use all of these elements.  The effect you are aiming for is a soft, warm palette.
Here is my design team card for some inspiration.  Check out the gorgeous Swedish designer papers from Pion design!  Linda carries them in her Zibbet store, The Funkie Junkie's Boutique.
Please drop by Our Creative Corner and join in on our challenge.  Also, check out the awesome projects from the rest of the design team - they are amazing!

Crazy for Color

I don't think I have ever used this color palette before, but I am loving it!  BLUE and ORANGE with white/natural - those are the colors for our challenge this week at Our Creative Corner.  Again, our hostess this week is Meihsia Liu from Simply Paper Crafts and she has a wonderful photo for some inspiration.
Here is my design team card for more inspiration.
I manipulated the paper to make the stripes in the colors for the challenge.  It had a red stripe that I cut out and then taped back together.

Getting Inky Part Two

As promised, I created a second card in my trio using the Hero Arts stamp, Floral Table Cloth.  And as part of our challenge at Our Creative Corner, I used the sketch from our hostess this week, Meihsia Liu from Simply Paper Craft.  She asks us to design a card/project according to the sketch. Turn or flip it any way and use any theme you want.
Here is my design team card for some inspiration.
Using the Floral Table Cloth stamp, this time I used Vintage Photo and Antique Linen distress stains and swiped them directly onto a nonstick craft sheet.  I took white card stock, ran it through the stain and then heat set it.  I used a border edge die on all four sides of the cardstock.  I adhered this onto pp from My Minds Eye and then onto the card base made from Hero Arts snow layering paper.

Please drop by Our Creative Corner and join in on our challenge.  Also, check out the awesome inspiration from the rest of the design team - they are amazing!
