This week at Our Creative Corner, our hostess is Paula McClane from Scrap Addicts Attic, one of the newbies to the Design Team! She has a fabulous challenge she calls, "Bling Bling." We are to use our most shiny and sparkly products and make it dazzle! Use rhinestones, Stickles, glitter, etc along with items found in nature (plants, animals, etc)!
Here is my design team card for some inspiration. Be careful, you may need sunglasses!

I don't typically use a lot of bling, so I needed to chose my elements of "shiny and sparkly." What could be more bright and shiny than NEON?! I've had these gorgeous Hero Arts Neon Inks for a while and wanted to showcase them in a card. In nature, would you see a neon flower - I don't know, but I just had to make one here!
I remember reading that neon (a true chemical element of gas found in nature) lasts longer and brighter when used on glossy paper. So I used the Many Dots stamp in three colors plus black, randomly on the paper and then die cut the four circles. I used the Envelope Liner bg stamp, inked in the three neon colors, for the flower and the sentiment.
For the sentiment, I used a chevron embossing folder on black cardstock and cut out the pattern on the top and bottom. I thought it would be a fun element for the card.
Please drop by Our Creative Corner and join in on our challenge. Also, check out the awesome projects from the new design team - they are amazing!

ok at first I was like "wait nothing is blingy" but then when I opened the card to fill my screen I was more like "ok that neon is so eye-popping and isn't that the point of the sparkly stuff anyway?" so yay you for creating outside the norm! P.S. the touches of black really sets those neons on fire :-)
Marcy! WOW!! BAM!! This card is absolutely got the 'bling' factor going on. I love this layout and I learned something new about neon on glossy paper...good to know! Your card is just wonderful and I love the blends of bold black that really focus your eye in.
Wonderful combination of nature and bling.

Marcy what a gorgeous blingy card :o). Love how you used those colours, your card looks amazing xoxoxo
Hello Marcy
Now tell me did you use the powerful Black to tone down your neon palette or to emphasise?
Bling, Bling is more like Blink! Blink!... but in a good way, I love colour, even tough my fav genre is Shabby Chic (just thought I would mention this; no particular reason!)
To me it is uninhibited and vibrant, it has an intense vitality that expresses activity and exuberance. Thinking outside the box is great for creativity.
A wonderful card Marcy.
Smiles:)

Super color combo, Marcy! The bright neons look fab with the sharp contrast of black. And what a sensational layout - love the flower with the black ribbon leaves. Thanks for the link to Melissa Phillips' blog - haven't visited there forever and I loved her ribbon leave video tut.
Hope you are having a great week!
