Now, I am not one to use lots of white space, so this was a challenge for me. I decided the black and yellow houndstooth was enough space without a lot of embellishments.
The ribbons reminded me of the scarf hanging around the model's neck. My "pleather" ribbon was left long to emulate the lean, long legs of the model. I knew that ribbon would be perfect for a some-day card! I also embossed the sentiment to give it that black shine. All in all, I am pleased with how this came out. It always fascinates me how people interpret inspiration photos differently. Thanks for visiting!

Reading the description of your card makes it even more awesome than when I saw it earlier in the Flickr pool! I love it, Marcy, and I's so glad you were able to finally spend some time in your craft room today! Hugs! :)
Fabulous card Marcy and perrfect for both challenges, love all the houndstooth!!
I remember those pants and the leather "mini"....hubba hubba from hubby
FAB card, great idea to use the ribbon, the tape measure is a neat touch.
Marcy, Oh, what a great card and it was so much fun to read your description of how this came about. What inspires us is always so amazing, and I can remember having an outfit with black and white houndstoot on it as well. That little material flower you added to your piece as well as the measuring tape, make this quite a fashionable creation.
